Abstract

Title: Developing a frequency-domain based approach for actuator tracking assessment in real-time hybrid simulation (NEES-2014-1240)

Year Of Curation: 2014

Description: Hybrid simulation divides a structure into experimental and analytical substructures. It provides a viable experiment technique to evaluate structural performance under earthquakes in an cost-effective manner. Develop hybrid simulation capacity at Southeast University therefore can significantly upgrade its structural research capability. In addition to identify the research/equipment needs for hybrid simulation, the proposed study will target to implement the state-of-the-art actuator delay compensation techniques into the existing servo-hydraulic controller. The experiment results acquired through this study will also enable researchers to establish statistic model of actuator control error for developing a probabilistic criteria to evaluate the reliability of real-time hybrid simulation results. The resulting research outcome would significantly advance the current practice hybrid simulation in structural engineering research.
